As many of you know, I have been volunteering with a local organization called JOIN for over a decade.  JOIN's innovative street outreach model helps over 500 people end their homelessness each year, and 75% of these households successfully retain their housing.

I support JOIN because they reach those that are hardest to reach--they go out to the streets and meet people where they are at, in their camps, under bridges, by the tracks.  JOIN offers these folks an enduring relationship of support as they travel their own path off the street and into a home.  You can learn more about JOIN at www.joinpdx.com.     

As you decide where to make your contributions this Holiday Season, I ask you to remember JOIN.  The next time you see a homeless man or woman standing in the cold, or finding temporary reprieve in a doorway, think of JOIN and how your gift can make an impact on the lives of the most vulnerable members of our community.

My goal is to raise $2,500 from my friends, family, and loved ones.  Any amount that you can give toward this goal is much appreciated, and will have a direct impact on the lives of homeless individuals and families working hard to end their homelessness.
