As most of you know, I have served on the board of Directors of JOIN for over 12 years. This incredible organization continues to change lives…one at a time….through a unique process of establishing, and maintaining, strong personal relationships with people who have found themselves without a home for a variety of reasons. You can find out more about JOIN at http://www.joinpdx.com. 

During the coming Holiday season we will all be asked to support non-profit organizations that are doing great things for individuals and families who are less fortunate than we are. I am asking you to consider supporting JOIN. We are truly effecting long-term change in a way that no other organization does.

Thank you for considering JOIN and the 500+ new people that we transition to permanent housing each year….including approximately 100 dependant children who are members of those supported families!!

Just to give you an idea of the impact of your gift...

...$2,500 helps one homeless household move off the streets and into a home of their own by covering move-in costs and supportive services for one year.

...$1,000 provides two months of eviction prevention assistance to a previously stable household who experienced a loss of employment or a cut in hours due to the economy.

...$650 pays for one move-in deposit for one household, the first step in breaking the cycle of homelessness.

...$250 provides utility assistance to keep the heat and lights turned on.

...$100 pays for a birth certificate and ID to help spark and support an individual's transition off the street.
