Personal Fundraiser for The House Signup

In Portland, over 1,800 of our neighbors are physically sleeping on our streets, in our parks, and under our bridges every night. By becoming a personal fundraiser for JOIN, you are asking your friends and family to invest in JOIN's highly effective response to this community tragedy. We suggest setting a fundraising goal of $2,000, which is a week of services at JOIN's basic service center, or House, which serves 80-100 individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty each day.

JOIN: Organizational Information
JOIN's organizational mission is to support the efforts of homeless individuals and families to transition off the streets and into permanent housing. Over the last two decades, JOIN's innovative model has helped almost 7,000 people end their homelessness. One important aspect of our program is our basic service center, or House. The JOIN House is a welcoming, safe, and resource-rich environment for 85-100 people each day. More information about JOIN's approach to the work can be found at www.joinpdx.com.

The JOIN House
The JOIN House serves 1800 people each year with critical basic services that not only help them survive on the streets, but also spark and support transitions into housing, employment, and stability.

Each of the 80-100 individuals that seek services in the JOIN House has a story that is about much more than their experience of homelessness. They are artists, truck drivers, and lovers of baseball. They are musicians, fishermen, and excellent cooks. They are our parents, our neighbors, and our friends. The gift you make today will help ensure that the next chapter begins with housing and continues in hope.

Gifts will support the provision of vital services in the JOIN House, including:

~showers and hygiene items
~laundry vouchers
~storage lockers
~mailing address
~internet and phone access
~dedicated family area and library/classroom space
~blankets, tarps, socks, and other cold weather gear
~clothing, boots, shoes, & underwear
~access to Community Partner services including free medical care, free acupuncture, DHS assistance, free haircuts, benefits advocacy and many others
~one-on-one referral information
~coffee, conversation, and a refuge from the weather
